Day 7 - 20 Apr 2014

An early start to a day before flying from Xian to Wuhan. An uneventful flight. From Wuhan we were bused to Yichang, a 6 hour trip, where we boarded our Yangtze River Cruise vessel. After attending briefings on the vessel we were off to bed.

Before arriving at the vessel we were given an option to upgrade our room and food package to an executive room and the executive dining area. 20 out of the 28 in our group upgraded. Michael and I  did not upgrade as we didn't consider it was worthwhile. The upgrade - The meals were the same, the dining room smaller(more exclusive) and the room was bigger. Those who didn't upgrade were happy with their decision and considered they would spend the saved money on other things.

I did take some photographs during the journey. They are just general vistas of the area through which we were traveling. At one stop, our lunch stop, we ran into a wedding reception.

The area through which we traveled  was mainly used for agriculture with small farming plots growing a variety of produce. There were rice paddies, fish ponds and lotus ponds along with plots of vegetables and fruit trees. The soil looked reasonable rich.

The Photos

The last thing Michael and I did, before going to bed, was to book onto the 2 optional tours which were available during the cruise.
